Bhupinder Mandair, affectionately known as Pinder by his family and friends, passed away suddenly on January 1, 2013.
Pinder had been working for UNESCO in Chile when he was tragically taken from us at the tender age of 24. He was to return home to Surrey, BC, from his work assignment in just a few short weeks.
Born on July 20, 1988, in Vancouver, Pinder's mother Paramjit, and father Kuljit devoted their lives to both him and his sister Amandeeep. He leaves an irreplaceable emptiness in their lives, but they will always cherish the many memories that he filled their home with.
Pinder will also be greatly missed by his extended family and many friends, including the numerous friends he made during his short time in Chile.
As a UBC student studying International Relations, Pinder had a promising career ahead of him, and was excited about his bright future. On January 1, the world lost a kind soul, and a young man with a zest for life and passion for helping others.
The Mandair family is appreciative of the United Nations' assistance during this extremely difficult time.
Pinder's memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 19, at 3pm, at Riverside Funeral Home in Delta, BC, with prayers to follow at Brookside Gurdwara in Surrey.
In the words of Abraham Lincoln, "In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years."
Rest in peace Pinder.
I never met Pinder, but as a fellow student from UBC I want to send my condolences to his beloved family and friends. Losing a loved one is never easy but God has a plan for all of us, and the heavens have gained another angel.
I WILL MISS YOU....
I’ll Miss You
This moment now just isn’t right
The feeling right now is so hard to fight
It was like the other day when we spoke
But now you’ve gone I just don’t know how I’m going to cope
You lifted me up when I was sad
You calmed me down when I was mad
But now that your gone
I feel so alone
I will never forget the moments we shared
You were the one person who always cared
I will never forget you
I will always miss you....
Love, Your Sister, Amandeep
